EVALUATION

For my New Elizabethan project I carefully tried to consider every detail in order to produce a character styling and to show my full understanding of the Elizabethan Era.

To produce my New Elizabethan look I used quite pastel and cool colour tones for the makeup. In contrast to neck ruff design, which was quite vivid considering I designed it using peacock feathers. This, I believe, brought some balance into the character rather than be over the top and clashing.

As I tried to recreate New Elizabethan look I deliberately chosen to look cheerless and somehow sombre on the final shootings. This idea was to try to  reflect the atmosphere of slightly reserved culture. But simultaneously symbols that I have incorporated e.g. English red rose and red crystal heart ring expresses and symbolises love and admiration.

What I would like to improve on if I had to do this project again is I would like to work on a model rather than work on myself. I feel this would allow me to be more in control of the process. Moreover, I would be happier be able to photograph by myself so that I will be completely satisfied with photographs. I am very grateful that my tutor suggested to re-photograph my final design in the studio. I feel that the final outcome turned out a lot better and looking more professional. Also, I would like to add that I would like to improve on my blogging skills in my future assignments.

Generally, I really enjoyed this project and I believe that I grasped the concept very well. I hope that you will also be able to see the way I communicated through my artwork.
